That's right, this is paradise. Paradise, PA that is. And it really was paradise for a week. We had a fun and relaxing vacation last month to PA with Dave's family. We went to Hershey Park, visited an Amish village, saw Jonah and the Whale at Sight and Sound Theatre and spent much time swimming in the pool. The trip took about 7 hours to get there and our kids were the most amazing little travelers. We only stopped once or twice each way and the worst time in the car was only the last hour when everyone was antsy to get home.
Hannah had been dreaming about riding this carousel for weeks!
Love this one!
Love, love, love! These are the shirts they got last time we were there. So glad we found the Hershey bar!
It was SO HOT the day we went to Hershey...probably about 96 degrees so the highlight of the day was the waterpark. We spent a huge portion of the day there cooling off from riding the rides.
Look at those smiles at the end of a VERY FUN day!
One of our little fishes in the pool at the house. We spent A LOT of time in that pool.
He has his swimmies on here but Caleb took them off while we were on vacation and started swimming on his own!! He was so excited to take this big step and he has been getting better and better each time he swims this summer. I am so excited for him and proud of him.
This was a common sighting while we were there. The horse and buggies were EVERYWHERE and the kids loved seeing them. We were truly in Amish Country.
Great picture of Grandma with all her grandkids. She had so much fun watching the kids mini-golf...doing each hole about 3 times each!
This is something our kids certainly don't get to do...catch lightening bugs. We were definitely in the country at the house we rented. The kids loved this.
Caleb in front of the one room schoolhouse at the Amish Village. The village was really neat and I learned a lot about the amish culture and beliefs.
Hannah is such a little animal lover! We couldn't get her away from the animals at the Amish Village.
On the way home, we stopped at the Crayola Factory and the kids had a blast. There were all kinds of activities for the kids to do. It was a great stop and I so wish it was closer to us!
Such a GREAT trip! We have since celebrated Caleb's 7th birthday, gone boating and to the beach and the kids got to go to VBS for a week at the church they go to AWANA at. We are having fun this summer and the weather has been great. We will be heading on vacation again in a couple of weeks to go to Camp of the Woods which is a family camp in Speculator, NY. It is our first time and we are meeting some other friends there. It will be a lot of packing and preparing but we are getting really excited to go and try something new!
