Recently I was watching "The Bible" at my parents house. It was the first part in the series. While the part of the Red Sea separating was playing out, my mom made a comment that struck me. She said it was amazing how the same people that saw God move the Red Sea were the same people who complained while in the dessert even though their every need had been met. I could picture God asking them, "Did you not see what I did with the Red Sea? Did you miss that?"
I got to thinking about that in my own life.
How many times to do I complain?
Whine?
Want things to play out differently?
How often am I afraid to trust God?
I have to remember all that He has done for me.
Have I forgotten that he provided every penny I needed to head to college when I saw no way?
Have I forgotten that I I walked away without a scratch when I totaled my car into a tree at 19?
Have I forgotten that He has provided for our specific needs during every transition, move and new job?
Have I forgotten that He was in that hospital room when my baby had the cord wrapped around his neck and I was more scared than ever before in my life?
Have I forgotten that He has given me 4 beautiful, healthy, vibrant children who know Jesus?
Have I forgotten that He allowed my grandparents to live a long, happy and healthy life so that I could know them as long as I did as well as my children?
Have I forgotten how impeccable His timing is with taking care of the details in our daily lives?
The list goes on and on...
I need to remember and return to the promises kept, the provisions given and the love poured out.
When I can do that, I can move forward and trust that he holds the future and all the details of it in His hands...the same hands that parted the Red Sea.

Happy Anniversary
Today Dave and I celebrated our 13th anniversary. And I just have to write this post to say how much I love my husband. Yes, the longer you have been married, sometimes things get mundane and you get more comfortable with one another and you think you live love each other less as time goes on. But honestly, I love him more now than I did when we first got married. It's funny because when you first get married, you don't think that's possible. I love what my brother says sometimes when he performs a wedding ceremony. He says, "May this be the day that you love each other the least."
But how is this possible? It's because you haven't experienced as much of life together. And I know, we have only been married for 13 years so we have a long way to go but the exciting part...it means I'm going to love him even more over the next 13 years!!!
What did we do to celebrate you ask? Nothing! Really, we went out to eat, did some shopping and rented a movie but really we just enjoyed some quiet quality time together. It is tradition that we always spend our actual anniversary together so we both took work off and my mom so graciously took the kids for us overnight and I can't thank her enough. We just spent time talking and enjoying the quiet together. We don't get that often with 4 children so when we do, it means a lot. We actually gotten to finish a conversation, eat a warm meal and SLEEP IN!!! Anyway, I just need to say how much I love my man. More and more, he is my rock...probably more than he realizes. Happy Anniversary Babe! I look forward to all the adventures ahead of us...

I'm a bit excited about seeing my first guest post on my friend's website today! Check it out at www.christyswithkids.blogspot.com.
And I wouldn't say the kids were excited but they seemed to happy to play outside today....in the foot of snow....AGAIN! It was with mixed emotions they took in the day since the snow changed our plans 3 times, but they adjusted and took in the day. We spent the day at my mom's playing games and watching TV, so I think they recovered fine. It's funny but I think THEY are even tired of the snow! COME ON SPRING!!!
